United States Federal Documents
J. Murrey Atkins Library was established as a federal depository library in 1964 to serve the University and the citizens of North Carolina’s 12th congressional district.
The library owns many government documents printed before 1964, including some back to the 1800s.
We currently receive approximately 40% of materials published by the federal government.
Many documents are available online and have links in the library catalog to their online versions.
Not all federal documents are listed in the library catalog.
- Documents contain statistics including census data, demographic data, and economic data. Subjects covered include law, current and past legislation, education, crime, countries, human rights, history, health care and more.
